Occupational Therapist / Registered Counsellor - Plettenberg Bay

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for patients with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Provide assessments and diagnoses for mental health and substance use disorders.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Participate in case conferences and staff meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
• Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
• Stay current with research and best practices in addiction treatment and mental health care.

• Relevant qualification as Clinical /Counseling Psychologist (Bpsych, Hons, Masters) or Occupational Therapist / Registered Counsellor with valid HPCSA registration
• Previous experience working in a hospital and not only private practice experience
• Experience with in-patient settings
• Experience working in a rehab/addiction center and/or psychiatric hospital
• Experience working with patients with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders (substance abuse and eating disorders a must).
• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high command of English first language.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment modalities and mental health interventions.
• Commitment to ethical and professional standards. Advantageous: EMDR qualified, trained and experience
