Occupational Health and Safety Officer

SUMMARY:
Are you experienced in health & safety within a heavy machinery, construction, or engineering environment? A leading company in crane operations and material handling is looking for a dedicated OHS Officer to ensure workplace safety and compliance.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• National Diploma in Health & Safety or equivalent
• SAMTRAC or OHSA certification
• 3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety environment (preferably in construction or heavy machinery)
• Strong knowledge of OHS legislation, risk assessment, and ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
• Experience in crane safety, lifting operations, and emergency evacuation procedures

• Implement and enforce safety regulations for crane operations and lifting procedures
• Conduct risk assessments on heavy machinery and material handling
• Ensure compliance with construction and engineering OHS regulations
• Investigate workplace incidents and recommend safety improvements
• Coordinate emergency response plans and evacuation drills
• Oversee operator safety training and site inspections
