OPERATIONS AND SERVICE MANAGER

SUMMARY:
As one of the largest refrigeration and cooling companies in the South-Eastern Cape our client provides bespoke solutions to a wide range of industries. We are recruiting for a strongly organized keyperson to take the leadership of their operations and technician teams. Location: George, Western Cape

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Trade tested and qualified in HVAC and Refrigeration.
• Experienced in daily Service related Refrigeration issues and Project builds.
• 15- 20 years industry experience “you know refrigeration inside out”.
• 5-10 years in a similar position managing Refrigeration Technicians.
• People management, Team building ,Project and Service delivery is a priority with appropriate references
• Build and manage our Refrigeration technicians
  • Build teams & Area controllers[2] & Spares
  • No-nonsense approach.
  • Manage leave.

Responsibilities:

1. 1. Schedule daily work allocation of both technicians and build teams
   1. a. Maintenance SLA’s
   2. b. Daily call outs
   3. c. Project Resource allocation & scheduling
   4. d. Workshop repairs
   5. e. Follow on’s
   6. f. Spares “on time & right”
   7. 2. Daily routine:
      1. a. 7:30 Meeting & job allocation with technicians at 7:30
      2. b. Check fitness and ready to go eg. dress code, van stock etc
      3. c. Manage our 2 Controllers allocating jobs and call outs to technicians [daily, hourly etc]- right guy for the right job
      4. d. Check outstanding issues from previous day
      5. e. Repair quote detail follow up with office
      6. f. Technicians Out the gate by 8:00
      7. g. Act as “come to guy”, leader, coach, by phone/on site for challenging issues
      8. h. Spot checks on site [5-10] per week [technicians & customer interaction ]
   8. 3. Weekly routine
      1. a. Standby schedule [daily/weekends/holidays]
      2. b. Tool & vehicle inspection
      3. c. Van stock
   9. 4. Six Monthly
      1. a. Conduct bi-annual performance reviews on technicians
      2. b. Determine development areas for skills improvement
