New Business Development Consultant, Alberton

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a New Business Development Consultant for a permanent role based in Alberton, Gauteng

POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Technical Diploma or Degree as well as sales courses / diploma or continuous development
• > 3 years' experience in Key Accounts Management and Solar PV technologies
• Sales Background / Advanced Selling / Key Accounts Management / Customer Centric Approach / Client Relationship Skills
• High level of experience with MS Office and CRM platforms, attention to detail / good punctuality
• Knowledge of the Solar Industry, Competitor Products, Solutions and Services
• A basic understanding of electrical concepts, including Direct Current up to 1000VDC, and Alternating Current, both LV and MV, single and three phase
• Understanding of Electrical DC Storage methods (eg Batteries, UPS)
• PV system design, including string sizing, inverter specification

• Identifying and onboarding potential partners (System Integrators/EPC’s & Distributors) through scouting visits and phone calls
• Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline by identifying and targeting potential residential and commercial solar energy customers
• Educate customers on the benefits of solar energy and provide tailored solar solutions to meet their energy needs
• Conduct site assessments and offer expert advice on system design, sizing, and installation options
• Prepare and present compelling proposals and quotations to prospective customers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management and installation teams, to ensure a smooth transition from sale to installation
• Stay up to date on solar industry trends, policies, and incentives to provide accurate and informed information to customers
• Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets; Project Management
• Ensure that CRM data is up to date and that project forecasting is accurate
• Manage and coordinate large projects until completed, being the central point of contact for the business partner and internal departments
• Regularly review and update the project schedule to identify potential delays and take corrective actions to prevent schedule slippage
• Customer Relationship Management
• Maintain a well-organised sales pipeline, tracking leads at various stages, updating status of opportunities regularly and communicating the customer’s needs to all relevant departments,
• Customer Agreements and Discount Schedules – Working with the Energy & Marketing Director to ensure all key customers have valid and signed agreements
• Discount schedules must also be checked to ensure that all customers get the correct discount levels and access to all the products they need to run / grow their businesses
• Marketing and Training
• Represent the business within industry bodies and be an active member of the renewable energy community
• Organize monthly training events in your region (and later Southern Africa)
• Organize and attend joint training and trade events with our customers
