Network Engineer, Fixed Term Contract, Zwelitsha

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Network Engineer for a fixed term contract role based in Zwelitsha, Eastern Cape

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related
• 5+ years’ experience in network engineering or administration
• Hands on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and other network hardware
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and VPN protocols
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and security best practices
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and perform packet analysis
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent are highly desirable
• Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and teamwork abilities
• Experience with SD-WAN and network automation tools (Ansible, Python, etc.)
• Knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and QoS technologies
• Understanding of ITIL framework and network compliance requirements

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, DHCP server.
• Monitor network performance and optimize network availability, reliability, and security.
• Manage network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access controls.
• Perform network troubleshooting and resolve connectivity issues.
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure network scalability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network solutions with enterprise systems.
• Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and policies.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Provide technical support and training to internal teams when needed
