Mobile Applications QA Engineer

A Fintech company has a new role available for Mobile Applications QA Engineer to join their Team. The organisation builds and offers various products and services for small and medium enterprises.

Overall Purpose

As a seasoned Mobile QA Engineer, the overall purpose is to ensure the quality and functionality of our mobile applications across diverse platforms and devices. The primary responsibility is to contribute to the successful release of high-quality mobile solutions through comprehensive testing, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and meticulous bug tracking.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct end-to-end testing for mobile applications, emphasizing functionality, usability and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to reproduce and debug reported issues efficiently.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including automated and manual testing methodologies.
• Identify and resolve compatibility issues across various mobile devices, ensuring optimal user experience.
• Contribute to performance testing and security testing initiatives to enhance overall mobile app quality.

The Skills and Experience we’re looking for:

• +5 years’ experience as a QA Engineer.
• Mobile Platforms: Proficient in testing iOS and Android applications; knowledge of the latest operating systems and updates.
• Device Compatibility Testing: Extensive experience testing on a diverse range of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
• Test Automation: Skilled in automated testing tools such as Appium, XCTest, Espresso, Playright etc.
• Manual Testing: Thorough understanding of manual testing processes, including exploratory testing, usability testing, and regression testing.
• Bug Tracking and Reporting: Experience using bug tracking tools such as Jira, Testmo, etc.
• Performance Testing: Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or Azure Load Test.
• Security Testing: Awareness of mobile security best practices and experience in conducting security testing on mobile applications.

Education And Certification:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• A relevant tertiary level qualification (BSc in Computer Science, BTech, BEng) or equivalent
• ISTQB foundation certification
• ISTQB Mobile Application Testing (CT-MAT)
• IMTQN Certified Mobile Application Tester (CMAT) + advanced
