Medical / Biomedical Technologist - Bacteriological Culture Media

A well-known medical media production and testing company requires the above to conduct quality control testing on bacteriological culture media at their premises.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:

• A bachelor of science degree or diploma with a focus on medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related is essential for this role.
• Previous experience having worked as a Medical Technologist, Medical Technician or related role, conducting quality control testing on bacteriological culture media within a micro laboratory is essential for this role.
• Previous quality control and growth performance and sterility testing is preferred.
• Must have knowledge of medical laboratory equipment, techniques, tests, and procedures.
• Must be able to report and record results.
• Must have previous working knowledge of sterile procedures.
• The successful candidate must have had some working knowledge on bacteriological culture media.

• Conduct and oversee all quality control testing on bacteriological culture media for the company.
• Performing quality control, growth performance and sterility testing and involved with production and manufacturing of our products. You will also be required to maintain laboratory supply inventories.
• Maintaining laboratory supply inventories.
• Collecting quality control samples to be tested.
• Performing quality control testing on bacteriological culture media which includes sterility testing and growth performance testing.
• Determining whether sample parameters fall within normal ranges and identifying abnormalities.
• Maintaining and overseeing all the servicing of equipment within the laboratory.
