Location: Offshore (Rotations between offshore sites and home)
Rotations: 3 months away, 2 weeks at home.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to work on engines, governors, and vessel control systems in an offshore setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex systems on offshore vessels. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic and challenging environment with a focus on safety, operational efficiency, and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

Engine & Mechanical Systems:
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical components of engines, governors, and related systems.
- Diagnose faults and take corrective actions to ensure the continuous operation of engines and mechanical systems.
- Overhaul, repair, and replace engine parts to restore full functionality.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure long-term reliability.

Electrical Systems & Vessel Control:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems related to engines, governors, and vessel control systems.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on electrical systems, ensuring they are running efficiently and safely.
- Ensure proper calibration and functionality of vessel control systems to optimize performance in offshore operations.
- Assist in the integration of electrical and mechanical systems for better overall system performance.

System Troubleshooting:
- Investigate and resolve faults in engines, governors, and vessel control systems using both electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools.
- Work with team members to troubleshoot and implement solutions to technical problems promptly and safely.

Technical Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
- Create detailed technical reports, including root cause analysis, repair actions, and future recommendations for system improvements.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and manuals related to engine and control systems to ensure proper operation and repairs.

Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations while working on electrical and mechanical systems offshore.
- Conduct work in line with industry standards and company policies to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Participate in safety drills and adhere to offshore health and safety practices at all times.

Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and offshore crew members to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Collaborate on troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure efficient team operations.

Rotational Work & Offshore Assignments:
- Be available for offshore work as part of a rotation schedule (3 months away, 2 weeks home).
- Willingness to travel internationally and work in various offshore locations and challenging environments.
- Adapt to working under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards in maintenance and repair tasks.
Requirements:

Experience:
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, particularly in engine maintenance, governors, and vessel control systems.
- Extensive experience working with mechanical and electrical systems in offshore environments, including troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.

Education:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Further specialized training or certifications in marine, offshore, or engine-specific systems will be advantageous.

Skills:
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to perform maintenance, repair, and integration tasks.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical faults.
- Ability to generate clear, concise technical reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in an offshore setting.

Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- Offshore safety certifications such as BOSIET, HUET, and other related qualifications.
- Certifications specific to the maintenance of engines, governors, or vessel control systems would be beneficial.
