SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading player in the renewable energy sector. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in solar energy and electrical systems. This role is ideal for a Pr. Eng. (Professional Engineer) registered with ECSA who is looking to make a significant impact in a growing industry.

POSITION INFO:

ey Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and oversee the installation of solar energy systems and related mechanical components.
Integrate solar solutions with electrical infrastructure, ensuring efficient performance and safety.
Conduct feasibility studies, technical analyses, and simulations to optimize designs and system functionality.
Manage and mentor junior engineers, offering guidance on technical aspects and industry best practices.
Provide technical support during project implementation and operational phases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and contractors.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations, particularly within the renewable energy sector.
Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

ECSA Registration: Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) in South Africa.
Degree: BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on solar energy and electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar energy systems and electrical integration.
Proven experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing installations.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., SANS, IEC).

Desirable Skills:

Experience with simulation software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
Familiarity with energy storage systems and grid integration.
Previous experience working with contractors and suppliers in the renewable energy sector.
