Maintenance Manager (South Coast)

POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead their maintenance team. The role involves overseeing plant and equipment maintenance, optimising efficiency, and minimising downtime, with a focus on coordinating tasks across refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and boiler making departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance team and manage workload distribution across various departments.
• Plan, implement, and ensure the timely completion of maintenance jobs and projects.
• Optimise plant and equipment efficiency, minimising downtime.
• Lead training and development initiatives for the maintenance team.
• Hire and manage contractors and teams for project execution.
• Provide clear, concise instructions to engineering teams and review work for technical accuracy.
• Collaborate with other managers and staff to align maintenance efforts with operational goals.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and HACCP standards.
• Manage job card distribution and completion for your team.
• Work flexible hours to ensure successful completion of breakdowns or projects.

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Organisational skills to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules.
• Relevant training and certifications as a Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Trade-tested Millwright.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration is preferred.
• N5 Diploma or equivalent.
• Wireman’s license advantageous.
• Leadership or management courses.

Desired Work Experience:

• Minimum of five years' supervisory experience.
• Experience in a poultry abattoir is preferred.
