Maternity Cover Position – Starting February 2025

Their focus is on offering a dynamic, real-world learning experience for children from 18 months to 18 years, within a nurturing and healthy environment.

Our client is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Lower Elementary Montessori Guide to join their team for a maternity cover position starting in February 2025.

Position Summary:
As a Lower Elementary Guide, you will be responsible for supporting students academically, socially, emotionally, and physically within a well-prepared Montessori environment.
Guided by Montessori principles, you will encourage each child’s individual growth, supporting them to progress across all developmental areas within the Lower Elementary (6-9 years) stage.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Implement Montessori methodology to foster holistic development in learners.
Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and physical growth.
Foster a safe and engaging learning environment, tailoring your approach to each child’s needs.
Maintain effective communication with parents and colleagues to ensure the well-being and progress of students.

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

A recognised Montessori qualification (or in progress) and/or prior Montessori experience.
BEd/PGCE (or working towards a recognised teaching qualification).
Current SACE registration.
Experience working with children aged 6-9 years.
A solid understanding of Montessori philosophy and a commitment to authentic Montessori education.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong initiative, self-direction, and the ability to work independently.
Effective time management skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
