Logistics Clerk (Shipping/Cargo)

SUMMARY:
Red Ember Recruitment is looking for a Logistics Clerk (Shipping/Cargo) for our client in Durban.

POSITION INFO:

• Monitoring and reconciling depot daily tracking and stock reports.
  
• Analyzing daily pending reports and correction of status flow.
  
• Control overdue inventory.
  
• Liaising with depots daily to prepare food grade and reefer containers.
  
• Coordinating the release of sale containers.
  
• Arranging of off-hire containers.
  
• Prepare and follow up on empty evacuation plans.
  
• Processing of rail and road transport instructions and follow-up on deliveries.
  
• Capturing container repair estimates and following up for approval.
  
• Follow-up recoveries of container damage and cargo claims from the liable party.
  
• Processing of transport and depot invoices.
  
• Do container depot visits and audits.
  
• Liaising with transporters/TPT/TNPA and vendors.
  
• Processing of cargo dues.
  
• Monitoring can control container seals.
  
  

Requirements:

• Matric and Maritime Qualification Essential NQF 5/6/7 (work experience will be considered if qualification is lower).
• Valid driver’s license.
  
• Attention to detail, and strict adherence to rules and regulations.
  
• Good interpersonal skills.
  
• Strong computer skills and communication skills.
  
• Planning and organizing skills.
  
• Professional candidate to deal with third parties at all levels
  
• Able to get to the office before 08h00 every day (punctual, self-disciplined)
  
• Experience in container depots, container transport, and reefer containers will be an added advantage.
  
• Individual needs to be accountable and responsible under minimum supervision.
