Legal Counsel (Africa Region)

SUMMARY:
Leading FMCG company based in Johannesburg North is seeking the services of an experienced Legal Counsel to cover a maternity contract. The role has a focus on supporting the overall Business Unit, including Global Procurement, Commercial, Supply Chain, HR, Quality, Agronomy, Finance, IT, Exports and Projects. Support the key functions within the business by mitigating legal and commercial risks and provide legal and commercial advice.

POSITION INFO:
Accountabilities:

• Drafting and vetting of all material and contracts for multi-million Dollar agreements including supplier agreements for all the different functions
• Lead and manage the litigation and arbitration process for the BU, liaise with external attorneys and advocates
• Present training on Anti-Bribery & COC, Competition Law, Data Privacy, Commercial Contracts, Speak-Up Investigations as and when required
• Provide legal advice and draft opinions on a vast array of matters

• LLB Degree and an admitted attorney in the High Court with good standing
• Minimum 5-8 years post-qualification experience at a large or niche law firm or a multinational FMCG company
• Solid commercial acumen and excellent drafting skills (agreements, resolutions, minutes, power of attorney, etc)
• Litigation and arbitration experience
