SUMMARY:
A global systems integrator and digital transformation partner, based in Midrand, are now seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join their fantastic legal team.

The Company’s Legal and Compliance Departments actively seek out opportunities to add value to the Company’s sales process, customer needs and business requirements. They have a strong team and are looking to supplement and believe heavily in developing our talent and in pushing them as far as they want to go. They are growing fast, at the forefront of understanding and implementing new technologies and actively pursuing a broader global footprint.

POSITION INFO:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Have a passion and respect for the law, a desire to learn and improve and to add maximum value.
- Be a South African qualified lawyer or have equivalent experience or qualifications.
- Have strong knowledge of information technology and services contracts and general commercial and contracts law.
- Have excellent drafting skills.
- Have strong negotiation skills.
- Be pragmatic and have a commercially sensible approach.
- Demonstrate an ability to lead transactions with the support of the wider team.
- Be a top-notch communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, self-motivation and organisation skills. The successful candidate may also:
- Have knowledge of telecoms and data protection regulation.
- Have prior in-house experience.
- Possess international experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Advise and support the company’s different departments in contract drafting and negotiation, leading negotiations with customers and suppliers.
- Own all elements of contract review and negotiation from draft to signature.
- Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret a wide variety of commercial agreements including Saa S and telco agreements, master service agreements, NDAs, vendor contracts, Data Privacy Agreements and ensure that all commercial agreements adequately protect the company’s interests, improve processes, and increase scalability.
