1. To teach Method of Mathematics at the Foundation Phase

2. To teach Theories of Education at undergraduate level

3. To contribute to faculty administration asrequired

• Conduct, publish and promote research.

• Facilitation of teaching, learning and assessment.

• Teaching Method of Mathematics to Foundation Phase students.

• Teaching Theories of Education to undergraduate students.

• Have a sound knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment strategies.

• Ability to teach the Method of FP Mathematics in English and isiXhosa.

• Teaching Theories of Education to diverse cohort of undergraduate students.

• Ability to develop teaching resources for the Method of FP Mathematics.

• Should be able to develop curriculum.

• Conducting scholarly work with an increasing focus on Africanization and Decolonization of the curriculum in the Foundation Phase.

• Be able to supervise postgraduate students.

REQUIREMENTS

• An M Ed degree and undergraduate Foundation Phase qualification.

• A two-year experience of teaching Foundation Phase Mathematics in isiXhosa.

• Sound disciplinary and content knowledge in Foundation Phase Mathematics.

• Sound disciplinary and content knowledge in Theories of Education.

• Sound knowledge of various techniques for teaching Foundation Phase Mathematics.
