Lead Electrical Engineer

POSITION INFO:
As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of high-voltage electrical systems across transmission and distribution networks. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, regulatory standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through to commissioning, focusing on transmission and distribution systems up to 33kV up to 765kV.
• Design, analyze, and optimize electrical networks, including substations, switchgear, and power lines.
• Develop technical specifications, perform feasibility studies, and conduct risk assessments.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance system reliability and performance.
• Provide expert guidance on electrical protection, control systems, and network automation.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed project documentation, including design drawings, calculations, and compliance reports.
• Mentor and guide a team of junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulatory changes, implementing best practices across all projects.

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on transmission and distribution systems.
• In-depth knowledge of high-voltage systems, substation design, and power transmission networks.
• Professional Engineer (PE) with ECSA.
• Experience with industry-standard software (e.g., CDEGS, Autogrid Pro, or similar).
• Strong understanding of national and international electrical standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC).
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, with experience in client management and team mentorship.
