SUMMARY:
Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Labour Relations Consultant to take full ownership of the labour relations function within a unionized environment. This is a specialist role, requiring a self-starter with extensive CCMA representation, grievance handling, and collective bargaining experience. This is a functional role.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labour Relations, or equivalent.
5+ years' experience in end-to-end labour relations, including:
CCMA representation (conciliation & arbitration).
Collective bargaining & union engagements.
Handling grievances & disciplinary cases.
Developing & implementing labour relations policies.
Ability to work independently as the sole IR specialist within the company.
Strong understanding of labour laws (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
Not seeking a managerial role – this is a specialist function.
Experience in a unionized environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide labour relations advisory services to management and employees.
Represent the company at the CCMA (conciliation & arbitration).
Manage grievances, disciplinary processes, and internal dispute resolution.
Lead and coordinate the collective bargaining process.
Develop, implement, and monitor labour relations policies & procedures.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR governance frameworks.
