Laboratory Manager – HPLC, GC, MS + ISO 17025

SUMMARY:
Exciting Opportunity for an EXPERIENCED, CHEMICALLY ORIENTATED Laboratory Manager in the FMCG Industry with extensive knowledge of HPLC, GC, ICP and NIR instrumentation.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications & Experience:

• BSc Honours Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Food Sciences
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial capacity within a laboratory
• At least 3 years of experience in an FMCG laboratory environment
• Proven experience implementing ISO 17025 Management Systems
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO, and FSSC standards
• Experience with laboratory instruments (GC, ICP, NIR, Lovibond, Spectrophotometer, HPLC-GC-MS)

• Manage and maintain ISO Laboratory Management Systems (ISO 17025)
• Ensure proper calibration and verification of laboratory instruments
• Conduct monthly safety checks and handle special COA requests
• Oversee test results, product information, and handle method validation
• Investigate and report on questionable test results

• Assist with research projects and conduct test studies
• Participate in internal assessments and audits
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO, and FSSC standards
• Interpret data and write comprehensive reports

• Assist with training laboratory staff and verifying training effectiveness
• Manage laboratory budgets and purchase consumables
• Prepare and handle samples as per External Analysis Schedules.
