Lab Technician

SUMMARY:
Our client is based in Catoridge and is looking for a junior lab technician with 1-2 years experience as a lab technician in an FMCG food manufacturing sector.

The purpose of the role is to ensure, adequate monitoring of Food and Safetyrequirements and the quality of finished products at packing. The role entails Labanalysis and interpretation of out of specs. Ensuring that corrective action where thereis loss of control or poor quality. Ways of communication will involve liaising with shiftsupervisor and quality controller regarding CA required

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

• Matric certificate with HG pass, subject must include maths and English, natural science .
• Certificate in food safety and quality an advantage.
• 2-5 years’ experience in extrusion and or quality control
• Computer literate
• 1 – 2 years working experience in a food manufacturing plant
• Knowledge or understanding of NIR machine; Aw meter.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures or In-house training.
• Proficiency in computer systems
• Experience with quality control and quality assurance procedures
• Understanding of laboratory testing methods and procedures

• Quality control on Finished goods: Water activity, analysis and bag weight
• Corrective action where required
• NIR sampling and CA where required
• Aw monitoring and CA where required
• Bag weight checks
