An excellent career opportunity for a motivated individual exists in the Supply Chain Department for a Logistics Manager, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. This position will be responsible for the management of the entire Despatch function through the receipt, storage and distribution of finished goods.  This is done to ensure client satisfaction through delivering products on time and in full.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Distribution

• Management of the entire distribution function pertaining to finished goods and pallets.
• Managing the pallet repairs contractor.
• Managing of the transport suppliers’ contract.
• Ensuring the optimal utilisation of available fleet.
• Liaising with all relevant stakeholder – both internal and external – to ensure on-time-in-full delivery.
• Ensure client satisfaction 

• Managing of finished goods stock through the optimal utilisation of warehouse space.
• Overseeing and processing of stock takes.
• Follow up on stock take discrepancies and investigate them.
• Monitoring and subsequent reporting of stock aging.
• Ensuring that stock storage adheres to the relevant safety regulations.
• Ensure fast and efficient service to clients, to ease internal process flow as well as in support of the company’s’ working capital strategy.
• Effective management of the Warehouse Management System and Syspro System (Super User).
• Update and maintain the inventory management system.
• Compile monthly inventory reports.
• Liaise with the systems provider to resolve system related issues.

• Managing of the forklift contracts, including renewal and negotiations.
• Managing of forklift fleet and insuring proper maintenance.
• Making sure all forklifts are in a safe, working condition.
• Auditing the forklift check books to make sure all personnel completes it on each shift.
• Liaise with forklift suppliers on maintenance call-outs and issues.

• Grade 12 Certificate (*requirement)
• Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain
• Relevant experience in a Warehousing/Logistics/Distribution field
• 5 years’ people management experience
• 3 years’ relevant ERP experience
• 3 years’ relevant finance/accounting background

• Valid driver’s license
• Service orientated
