A leading company in the telecommunications sector is seeking to appoint a Key Account Manager for various regions, including Pretoria, Klerksdorp/Potchefstroom, Nelspruit, East London/Port Elizabeth, and Stellenbosch.
The ideal candidate is driven, eager to sell, and have a strong background in solution-based sales with a focus on meeting targets. Technical network experience is a bonus, as it will enable a deeper understanding of the network solutions being offered. Candidates with a telecommunications background who have established strong networks in sales would be highly advantageous.
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining long-term, trust-based relationships with enterprise clients. This role involves managing a portfolio of enterprise business customers, processing new business opportunities, and building direct connections with clients. The Key Account Manager will also collaborate closely with internal teams to leverage resources and maximize revenue potential within the assigned client accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of key enterprise accounts to ensure long-term success and satisfaction.
- Foster positive, lasting relationships with enterprise clients.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sales to onboard new enterprise clients effectively.
- Host a “Welcome” meeting with new clients, providing relevant communication details and information, alongside the Head of Sales.
- Promote the company’s enterprise products to clients in partnership with the Head of Sales to drive optimal sales and customer satisfaction.
- Track and meet individual sales account targets in line with overall enterprise objectives.
- Clearly communicate the value of products and services to clients within their organization.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize revenue.
- Process upgrade and downgrade requests, ensuring signed quotes are submitted to the accounts team for billing.
- Regularly communicate enterprise client requirements to the operations teams for smooth service delivery.
- Provide monthly sales forecast reports for the upcoming month.
- Submit all approved installation quotes to the Projects Coordinator for scheduling.
- Escalate any unresolved issues related to projects, accounts, or customer support to the appropriate teams.
- Ensure feasibility checks are completed within agreed time frames for new service requests and provide accurate quotes where applicable.
- Present updated pricing for new services to enterprise clients, as authorized by the Head of Sales.
- Submit monthly reports on quotes accepted for new services and upgrades.
- Assist the Head of Sales with ad-hoc tasks and special requests as needed.
- Manage QContact calls and tickets, along with associated reporting and sales activities, at regular intervals.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- A relevant tertiary diploma or degree is beneficial.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a sales function within the telecommunications or similar sector.
- Proven customer support experience.
- In-depth understanding of the company’s network infrastructure and the associated challenges and limitations.
- Strong decision-making abilities to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Excellent sales skills with leadership capabilities; exceptional negotiation and consultation skills.
- Familiarity with key metrics and value drivers in sales.
- Understanding of the business dynamics and sector-specific realities in the assigned region.
- Strong skills in account management and client relationship development.
- High level of responsibility, commitment, and effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent time management, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using company-specific tools and conducting feasibility checks for related services.
