Junior Web Developer – Pietermaritzburg
Our client is seeking a Junior Web Developer (1+ years' experience) to join their dynamic team and take the next step in their career.
POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks
- Assist in building and maintaining WordPress or other CMS-based websites
- Work closely with senior developers to implement new features and optimize existing ones
- Ensure websites are responsive, fast, and SEO-friendly
- Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX designs into functional web pages
- Perform basic debugging and troubleshooting of web applications
- Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and best practices
- Support website maintenance, including content updates and bug fixes
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or certifications, Web Development, IT, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS)
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress and Joomla etc
- Knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and version control systems (e.g., Git or Bitbucket)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or Canva) will be beneficial
