A upmarket restaurant and venue in Cape Town is seeking a talented and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join their kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef with a strong background in high-end cuisine to work in an exclusive, fast-paced environment. Candidates must be available for face-to-face interviews and cook-offs in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations.
• Prepare and present high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence.
• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Support menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.
• Ensure stock control, inventory management, and efficient kitchen operations.

Requirements:

• South African citizen or valid work permit.
• Formal culinary qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent experience in an upmarket / fine dining kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and plating styles.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.
• Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
• Availability for face-to-face interviews and cook-offs in Cape Town.
