A leading global brand in the FMCG industry is seeking a Junior Shopper & Category Manager to join its team in Cape Town. This role is perfect for an analytical and data-driven professional who thrives on uncovering category insights to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities

Category Analysis & Insights:
- Analyze and interpret key account and channel-level data from various sources to identify category opportunities.
- Track customer performance vs. KPIs, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Support new product development with data-driven insights and compelling category arguments.
- Provide regular category performance updates and recommendations to drive growth.

Customer Collaboration & Strategy Execution:
- Manage and support customer category range reviews to optimize product assortment.
- Leverage insights to influence range, distribution, and space planning.
- Work closely with brand and sales teams to execute category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Support the development and implementation of category plans with key retail partners.

Merchandising & Shopper Engagement:
- Utilize shopper insights to create effective planograms and in-store initiatives.
- Work with Customer Marketing to develop shopper-friendly fixturization, POS materials, and other in-store activations.
Requirements

Educational Background:
- BCom Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.

Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an analytical role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Strong data analysis, interpretation, and management skills.
- Proficiency in external market data software (e.g., IRI, Nielsen) is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
