Junior Quantity Surveyor

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Graduate or Junior Quantity Surveyor (0-2 years experience) to join the dynamic team of a construction company in Hillcrest, Durban.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to start and grow their career as a QS in the construction industry.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role (internship experience is beneficial).
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JBCC, NEC, FIDIC) is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, CostX, BuildSmart, or other quantity surveying software is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the industry.
• A valid driver’s license and own vehicle

• Assist with on-site measurements, on-site payments, appointment letters
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for construction projects.
• Support the tendering and procurement process
• Assist with cost control and financial reporting, including tracking project expenditures and forecasting costs.
• Conduct site visits to assess work progress, measure completed work
• Help manage contract administration.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and sub-contractors to ensure project cost efficiency.
