Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor – Building Contractor
Location: Bellville, Cape Town

Level 6GB/6CE building contractor based in Bellville, Cape Town, seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior staff with the preparation, pricing, and submission of tenders, utilizing CCS (Construction Computer Software).
• Support the preparation of monthly certificates, subcontractor payments, and management of contract documentation.
• Accurately measure quantities of materials required for construction projects, based on drawings and specifications.
• Assist in the calculation of project costs by estimating labor, materials, and other relevant expenses.
• Contribute to compiling tender documents, including Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for contractor bids.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare accurate project estimates.
• Participate in the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing with suppliers, and managing contracts.
• Monitor project progress and expenditures, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
• Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely project delivery.
• Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation for all projects, ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A formal qualification in Quantity Surveying or Building Management.
• A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience, ideally within a building contractor environment.
• Proficiency in CCS (Construction Computer Software).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and suppliers.
• Assertive negotiation skills, with the ability to handle cost-related discussions professionally.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently when required.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
