Junior Mechanical Designer/Graduate

SUMMARY:
To work within the design department team to deliver engineering designs etc.

POSITION INFO:

Basic Requirements:

• Formal Tertiary education : N. Dip or higher in Mechanical Engineering Or Mechatronics Degree
• Drivers License : Code 8 – required
• Languages :
  • English (speak, read, and write)
  • Afrikaans (speak, read, and write)
  • German (Advantageous)

Experience:

• Min 1 years’ experience in a design capacity
• Competent in concept development, design calculations, and FMEAs
• Basic machine calculations & FEA Experience
• Basic understanding of material specification & processes

Job Objectives:

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Design & Detailing of small Special Purpose application.
• Establishing most effective design solution to achieve required specification.
• To specify components for the purpose of procurement.
• Detailing of Designs in conjuncture with the assigned Senior Design Engineer / Design Engineer.
• ECR Designs & Detailing for small fixtures and tools.
• Assembly assistance during the assembly phase of the project.
• Create design release package for manufacturing purposes.
• To comply with ISO procedures with regards to Project Handover, Concept Development, Design Realisation and Design Sign off.
• Must be a Team player
