POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking a Junior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role involves managing financial transactions, handling accounts payable, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping.

This role is based in Centurion.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Transactions & Bookkeeping

Process cashbook transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
Manage card transactions and follow up on outstanding slips.
Coordinate proforma/quote payments with suppliers.
Monitor bank balances to ensure sufficient funds.
Maintain asset registers and petty cash records.
Perform full bookkeeping up to Trial Balance.

Accounts Payable Management

Prepare payment vouchers and capture supplier, municipal, and contractor invoices.
Process payments on banking platforms.
Track invoices, maintain account status records, and ensure payments are made on time.
Maintain accurate balance sheets for accounts payable.

Month-End & Financial Reporting

Reconcile general ledger transactions and analyze financial data.
Identify variances and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Process monthly and year-end journal entries.
Assist in preparing financial records for year-end closing.

Financial Filing & Compliance

Organize and maintain a structured financial filing system.
Ensure timely scanning and filing of financial documentation.

Administrative Support

Provide support to the finance team with administrative duties as required.
Resolve financial and banking queries efficiently.
Assist the finance manager with any accounting-related tasks.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance.
1-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
