SUMMARY:
Junior Construction Manager (Contract) ((SACPCMP registration and min National Diploma (any discipline)) required for our petro-chemical Client based in Durban. The main purpose of the role will be to manage all site construction activities and supervise all field personnel as required to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction budget and estimates
- Ensure that all construction work on site is executed within budget by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances, implementing corrective actions
- Perform constructability reviews at design phases and towards execution
- Construction work permit application to Department of Labour
- Develop construction schedules
- Prepare and evaluate construction bids
- Management of construction business partners
- Resolution of field construction queries
- Maintain safe, secure, and health work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- Audit construct ion schedule, quality and cost during construction phase.

Qualifications/Skills/ Abilities:
- National Diploma (any discipline)
- Must be able to trave throughout South Africa if required
- May be required to work after hours at times
- Communication with multi-disciplinary teams in an uncertain environment

Professional Registration:
- SACPCMP

Experience:
- Knowledge and experience with regulators and owner’s policies and requirements
- Ability to monitor processes and take corrective action
- Knowledge and experience in site practices
- Lean Six Sigma (advantageous)
- Knowledge of design and construction processes, methods and sequences (advantageous)
- Knowledge of an experience in new methods and equipment (advantageous)
