POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• Degree in Science/Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (Org
• 1 - 2 years exp. Compound and / or Polymer

• Skilled in interpreting chemical TDS and MSDS.
• Experience in Quality Management systems.
• Knowledge regarding, SHEQ and other legal requirements

• Attention to detail.
• Cost-conscious and improvement oriented.
• Team-oriented.
• Collaborative in management and personal responsibilities.

• Conduct research and utilise technology.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of laboratory equipment.
• Ensure thorough testing of all rubber compounds, including R&D projects and final products, adhering to appropriate methodologies.
• Compound design & development:
• Develop rubber formulations to meet processing, cost, product, and market performance criteria.
• Prepare R&D/experimental prototypes on a laboratory pilot scale.
• Scale up experimental pilot to plant-level production.
• Address customer needs and requirements.
• Test and approve pilot production for mass production.
• Obtain processing feedback from customers and establish laboratory mixing control limits.
• Implement new technologies to align with current economic conditions.
• Provide daily support to the compound development manager and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Laboratory management:
• Quality control and final product release.
• Manage and report non-conforming products and raw materials.
• Oversee internal capacity and prioritize tasks.
• Lead and develop people:
• Plan for succession in anticipation of retirements.
• Develop deputies for key functions.
• Health and safety:
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies (ISO 14001).
