Junior Accounting Clerk - George - Western Cape

POSITION INFO:
A financial institute in George is looking for a Junior Accounting Clerk to start in February 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records.
• Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports and summaries as required.
• Maintain and update accounting databases and spreadsheets.
• Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Handle administrative tasks related to the accounting department.

Requirements:

• Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or studying towards one).
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks) is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory.
