Bedfordview – A Leading Financial Services Brokerage has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Internal Broker / Underwriter (Short Term Insurance) to join their dynamic team to add to their great success.

POSITION INFO:
Our client in the Financial Services industry is seeking an Internal Broker/Underwriter (Short Term Insurance) with a minimum of 3 years' relevant underwriting experience, ideally within a Broker environment, adept at handling key accounts.

The candidate is required to be proficient in underwriting for both personal and commercial lines. This role primarily involves inbound responsibilities, in which in-person meetings may be required occasionally.


Responsibilities:

• Diligent service management for an existing client portfolio consisting of 200 clients, comprising of both personal and commercial lines policies.
• Proficiently conducting general underwriting tasks.
• Attending to client’s policy queries.
• Addressing general inquiries related to insurance products, coverage, and excesses.
• Efficiently managing policy renewals, and advice relating to the renewals and discounts.
• Handling policy endorsements with precision.
• Management and arrangements of unpaid premiums.
• Policy retentions and cancellations.
• Scheduling and facilitating Zoom meetings with clients to comprehensively review policies (minimum of 3 client meetings per day).
• Skillfully underwriting and providing accurate quotes for new policies tailored to existing clients.
• Expertly executing re-brokering activities and soliciting quotations from our esteemed insurance partners.
• Profiling risks and conducting a thorough analysis of client portfolios.
• Coordinating tracking device installations when deemed necessary.
• Arranging content valuations and building surveys.
• Providing clients with the necessary advice pertaining to the client’s policy changes.
• Skillful management of policy cancellations and executing effective business retention strategies.
• Processing refunds as required with attention to detail

• Matriculation certificate.
• Essential RE5 certification.
• Personal and commercial class of business certifications.
• An NQF level 4 qualification
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in underwriting.
• Proficiency in handling both personal and commercial lines.
• Driver's License and Own vehicle
