Internal Auditor

SUMMARY:
One of our large corporate clients is looking for an Internal Auditor to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Description: The company needs to replace an Internal Auditor in the team. We want a newly qualified CA, that completed their articles at one of the big four auditing firms. A dynamic, self-sufficient go-getter, that is attentive to details and serious about accuracy, looking for a platform to work closer with business and operations than what external audit typically allows.
Reporting line: Internal Audit Manager, no direct reports. Team of eight, including this role and Internal Audit Manager.

Responsibilities:
Main

• Internal audit of financial and operational processes and controls, identifying risks and reviewing the design and operating effectiveness of controls implemented to mitigate those risks. Technical accounting reviews as and when available/ needed.

• Help build and mature our control self-assessment and key process and control reviews across the division.
• Build-on and grow our library of audit reviews, establishing methodology and standard procedures from set working papers to sampling approaches, request lists and report templates.

• Responsible for the full lifecycle of the audit end-to-end, from engagement initiation, right through to planning, fieldwork and report writing.
• Provide input into the Internal audit scope and audit plan coverage for submission to the audit committee.
• Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s intervention.
• Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.

• BCom Hons. Degree – Accounting focus
• Newly qualified CA(SA), 2 to 3 years work experience
• High attention to detail. Sound, independent judgment.
• Computer proficient, with intermediate Excel skills.
• Background/ exposure to business analysis, risk, processes, and controls will be beneficial, as will the ability to draft process flows.
• Excellent analytical skills and good report writing ability.
• A self-starter, proactive professional.
• A flexible, agile person able to adapt and pivot as the function matures and its requirements and/ or needs changes.
