Are you an experienced audit professional with a strong background in risk management and compliance within the insurance sector?

POSITION INFO:
This is your opportunity to join a prominent insurer as an Internal Audit Manager!

In this strategic role, you will play a key part in driving the company’s commitment to governance, risk management, and regulatory adherence. With high visibility within the organization, you will report to the Audit and Risk Committee and work closely with the CEO.

Duties:

Design and execute a risk-based internal audit strategy that aligns with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
Oversee audits covering financial, operational, compliance, and IT risks, ensuring full alignment with South African insurance regulations (FSCA, Prudential Authority).
Stay current on regulatory updates and engage with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance.
Enhance internal audit practices and foster a combined assurance approach across all business areas.
Lead and mentor a high-performing internal audit team, keeping them up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Present audit findings to the Audit and Risk Committee, ensuring accountability and continuous improvements.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
BCom Finance / Internal Audit
BCom Honours
CA(SA), CIA, or CISA

Experience:

At least 10 years of internal audit experience
A minimum of 5 years in a senior role
Insurance or financial services industry exposure is beneficial
Expertise in risk-based auditing and knowledge of South African insurance regulatory frameworks, such as SAM.

Skills & Competencies:

Deep understanding of insurance regulations and governance frameworks
Strong leadership skills
Problem-solving skills
Communication skills
Expertise in audit management software and data analytics tools
High ethical standards, with an innovative approach to audit methodologies and technology
