POSITION INFO:
Intermediate RPG Developer required in Fourways. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing RPG-based applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform while ensuring system performance, data integrity, and business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, modify, and maintain RPG IV, RPG Free, and CL programs.
- Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues for optimal system performance.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Enhance business processes and optimize system functionality.
- Maintain and update technical documentation.
- Support legacy system migration and performance improvements.
- Provide production support and participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3-5 years of RPG programming experience on IBM I (AS/400).
- Proficiency in RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, SQL, and DB2.
- Experience in insurance or financial services (advantageous).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently & in a team.
- Knowledge of SDLC & Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication & documentation skills.
