SUMMARY:
Our client specializes in project support for the (petro)chemical and maritime industries. They provide personnel in the areas of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety. They are seeking an Integration Engineers - Interior
Systems (Jnr+Snr) to join their
team in the Netherlands.

POSITION INFO:

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
1-10 years experience in interior system integration within the shipbuilding or marine industry.
Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).

Beneficial requirements:

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and experience with 3D modelling tools for system layout and design.
Strong understanding of maritime safety regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL) and industry standards for interior systems.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Duties and responsibilities:

Interior System Integration: Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers to integrate HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems into the vessel’s interior layout.
Design Coordination: Ensure that the design and installation of all interior systems meet safety, regulatory, and operational requirements while maximizing space utilization and functionality.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all interior systems comply with international maritime safety standards and regulations, including fire safety, ventilation, and environmental controls.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with naval architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of interior systems within the ship’s overall structure.
Troubleshooting & Optimization: Provide ongoing technical support during construction and testing phases, ensuring efficient operation of integrated systems and resolving any issues related to system performance or design.
