JOB DESCRIPTION:
To oversee and manage inland freight forwarding operations for imports, including cross-border logistics control, truck fleet management, coordination with clearing agents and warehouse service providers, file keeping, and daily operational management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Coordinate and manage inland freight forwarding operations, ensuring efficient and timely movement of goods.
- Oversee and manage the truck fleet, including scheduling, maintenance, and route planning.
- Liaise with clearing agents to facilitate customs clearance and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with warehouse service providers to ensure proper handling, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all operational activities and shipments.
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing and resolving client inquiries, issues, and concerns.
- Communicate with clients to provide updates on shipment status and address any operational challenges.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company, clients, clearing agents, warehouse providers, and truck fleet operators.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between all parties involved in the inland freight forwarding process.
- Report to the Project Manager on operational activities, performance, and any issues affecting the logistics process.
Reporting
- Prepare and submit regular reports on daily operations, fleet management, shipment statuses, and client interactions.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics related to inland freight forwarding and fleet management.
- Maintain comprehensive files and documentation related to all operational activities and transactions.
Specific Requirements for the Position
Essential:
- Proven experience in inland freight forwarding, cross-border logistics control, or a similar role within the supply chain and logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of truck fleet management, customs clearance, and warehouse operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in file keeping and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, service providers, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook) and knowledge of freight forwarding software.
- Ability to handle daily operational challenges, work independently, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred:
- Experience managing cross-border logistics and dealing with international freight operations.
- Familiarity with customs regulations, import/export procedures, and warehouse management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
