POSITION INFO:
My client, a leading and well known Retailer based in Montague gardens requires a competent and experienced IT Manager to join their team.
Overview:
As the IT manager, you will work closely with a small team of IT staff to ensure that the company uses relevant and the up-to-date technology to run our business at Head Office and remote stores.
The IT manager will be responsible for ensuring that the systems and hardware used by our company are compatible, secure, and scalable, and that all systems are available each day. You will also be responsible for managing our internal network and providing support for our staff.
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets:
· Preferably a bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in hands-on IT management
· Willingness to be deeply involved in systems problem resolution
· Ability to work with a small, dedicated IT team
· Ability to communicate clearly with external systems suppliers
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
· Strong teamwork and communication skills
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of industry-standard computer hardware and software systems
· Experience with network administration
· Experience managing on-premises servers, storage area networks (SAN), and network-attached storage (NAS) devices
· Experience with e-commerce platforms and technologies
· Familiarity with our software platforms including Microsoft 365 (e.g., Power BI), AWS Cloud
· Strong understanding of data governance, analytics and BI
Responsibilities:
· Monitor uptime of existing systems & and communicate resolution plan when failures occur
· Ensure the reliability, security and scalability of the company’s technology infrastructure
· Assist the IT department head in planning the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks
· Lead IT projects and oversee the implementation of new IT initiatives ensuring they are done timely, cost effectively and meets the business needs.
· Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure
· Analyse IT resource utilization and develop strategies to optimize performance
· Establish, measure, and define IT goals to maintain the IT roadmap
· Monitor and analyse the success of IT initiatives and projects and continually evaluate new technologies and tools for the company
· Manage development projects to integrate new technologies into existing systems
· Perform ongoing support and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network components via internal and external support structures
· Establish a security policy to protect company information and resources
Team Leadership & development:
o Lead and mentor the IT team, providing guidance and fostering professional growth.
o Ensure the IT department operates efficiently, meeting service levels promptly.
o Direct the activities of the help desk to ensure the IT needs of users are met.
o Determine the needs of and co-ordinate the training of IT staff
