POSITION INFO:

Software development company operating in the fruit industry is seeking an IT Manager responsible for the company’s own IT infrastructure, tools and security needs; and the company’s hosted environment where customer solutions and data are hosted. The IT Manager and team will provide technical support to customers which includes network administration, connectivity, database administration, performance tuning and fault-finding.

Requirements & Skills:

- Bachelor’s Degree in IT / Computer Science / IT Project Management or Engineering

- Proven working experience as an IT Manager

- Hands-on experience in computer networks, network administration and network installations

- Expertise in data center management and data governance

- Ability to manage personnel

- Proficient in English and Afrikaans

- Valid driver’s license and vehicle

Responsibility:

- Plan, organize, manage IT operations including budgets

- Manage IT staff (recruiting, training and coaching, performance management)

- Design, develop, implement and manage IT systems, policies and procedures in conjunction with the company’s solutions architect when it comes to design

- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems

- Manage licensing compliance

- Contract and manage IT related outsourced solution providers

- Manage key supplier relationships, costing and SLA’s and new technology offerings

- Preserve IT assets, information security and controls

- Proactively ensure that IT contingency plans are in place for business continuity

- Formulate and manage disaster recovery plans

- Any other duties consistent with the position of IT Manager
