IT Asset Manager

SUMMARY:
Gijima Staffing Solutions is responding to a tender: We are seeking a IT Asset Manager who will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of IT assets within the institution. This role ensures that IT assets are accurately tracked, maintained, and optimized to support institution's operations while adhering to budgetary and compliance requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Asset Inventory Management
• Maintain an accurate and comprehensive inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
• Implement and manage asset tracking systems and tools to monitor asset status, location, and usage.
• Conduct regular audits of IT assets to ensure compliance with inventory records and identify discrepancies.
• Asset Lifecycle Management
• Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
• Develop and implement processes for asset acquisition, provisioning, and retirement to optimize asset utilization.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and purchase agreements for IT assets.
• Software License Management
• Monitor and manage software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and university policies.
• Conduct software audits to verify license usage and prevent unauthorized installations.
• Develop strategies to optimize software licensing costs while ensuring compliance.
• Budgeting and Reporting
• Assist in the development and management of the IT asset budget, ensuring alignment with university financial goals.
• Prepare regular reports on asset inventory, utilization, and compliance status for management review.
• Analyze asset data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Vendor and Stakeholder Management
• Collaborate with IT vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and support for IT assets.
• Engage with university departments to understand their asset needs and provide guidance on asset management practices.
• Serve as a point of contact for asset-related inquiries and issues.
• Policy Development and Compliance
• Develop and implement IT asset management policies and procedures in accordance with best practices.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, legal requirements, and industry standards related to asset management.
• Promote awareness of asset management practices across the university.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in IT asset management, inventory management, or procurement in an IT environment.
• Familiarity with IT asset management tools and software is an advantage.
• Experience in higher education or similar environments is preferred.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple asset initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess asset utilization and develop optimization strategies.
• Proficiency in asset management tools and software applications.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and professional development.

• IT Asset Management certification (e.g., Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), ITIL) is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining independence in judgment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support asset management activities.

• 1-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
