They are seeking a skilled IFRS Reporting Specialist, based in Cape Town, to join their team and contribute to the accurate and efficient reporting of investment assets.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Verify the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial investment asset reporting data from source providers.
Resolve or escalate queries to the appropriate business areas to ensure issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
Manage, analyze, and enrich large datasets to support reporting objectives.
Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of IFRS and FSCA reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
Conduct thorough analysis and reasonableness checks to identify potential errors and provide meaningful insights.
Ensure timely delivery of accurate reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Interpret new financial instruments to determine correct accounting treatments under IFRS and classify them appropriately for statutory reporting.
Update accounting and reporting systems (e.g., JDE) with accurate investment data and ensure compliance with FSCA reporting requirements, such as QRT uploads.
Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledgers and fulfill other reporting obligations.
Serve as the main point of contact for client queries, focusing on swift and satisfactory issue resolution.
Prepare IFRS7 working papers for all legal entities and support the Group Reporting Team with valuation techniques for annual financial statements.
Provide S&P national scale credit ratings in the required format for all legal owners.
Oversee tax-related administrative tasks, including CGT, S24J, and DWT.
Handle IFRS10 responsibilities, including fund consolidations, supplementary packs for fund subsidiaries, and preparing working papers.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

BCom Degree in a relevant field, along with a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services, ideally within asset management or life insurance.
Extensive knowledge of financial instruments and investment asset reporting.
Strong understanding of asset management administration systems and related practices.
Expertise in IFRS7, IFRS10, and other accounting standards pertinent to investment assets and financial instruments.
