Job Overview:

We are looking for an energetic and passionate Housekeeping Manager to join our dedicated team at a luxurious, privately-owned game lodge in Pilanesberg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field guiding, front-of-house management, housekeeping, and laundry management.

Primary Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Supervision

• Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry personnel, and cleaning crews.
• Schedule staff shifts and assign daily tasks to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations.

• Oversee daily cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Inspect rooms and facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
• Address maintenance issues and coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs.
• Basic computer literacy; knowledge of Res request is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and presentation for guest accommodations.
• Handle guest requests, complaints, or special requirements promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all lodge guests.

• Monitor and manage housekeeping inventory, including linens, cleaning supplies, and amenities.
• Place orders for supplies and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery.
• Track usage and reduce wastage through efficient stock management practices.

• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards.
• Implement and maintain cleaning protocols, including for high-traffic and sensitive areas.
• Conduct regular staff training on safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Identify opportunities to reduce costs by optimizing labour or streamlining processes.

• Work closely with the front office and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate with other departments about guest arrivals, departures, and special requests.
• Support lodge events or functions by coordinating housekeeping needs.
