SUMMARY:
We require an experienced Health and Safety Manager in the Tulbagh / Winelands area. You are a strategic Manager who will assist the company to reach its overall goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement and growing.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferably in within the agricultural, food processing, or manufacturing sectors)
At least 6 years experience in similar role
Relevant certifications such as SAMTRAC, NEBOSH International General Certificate, or similar
Certification in First Aid, Firefighting, or Emergency Response will be advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures
Ensure full compliance with the South African Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, industry regulations, and international HSE standards
Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents, ensuring root cause analysis and the implementation of preventative measures
Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and management to promote awareness and compliance
Establish emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness
Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics, reporting to senior management with recommendations for continuous improvement
Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and monitor compliance across all levels of the organization
Liaise with regulatory authorities, conduct compliance audits, and ensure all required documentation and permits are up to date
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting safety initiatives and employee engagement programs
Collaborate with HR and operational teams to address health and wellness concerns
