POSITION INFO:

A top, award-winning South Africacn Insurance Company is seeking a Head of Technology to spearhead their IT strategy and operations. Known for their prestigious reputation, this company continues to excel, and they are looking for a dynamic individual to shape their technological landscape. This role is a hybrid position, requiring you to be in office 3 days a week.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead a talented IT team of 35 professionals within a growing workforce of over 60 employees
• Oversee and manage 6 direct reports while driving the company''s technology vision
• Ensure a robust, efficient, and forward-thinking IT infrastructure
• Play a pivotal role in shaping the company''s future success in the Insurance sector

Requirements:

• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required
• A postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA or equivalent) will be advantageous
• 10+ Years of experience in Information Technology
• Insurance industry experience is advantageous
• Proven expertise in managing Capex and Opex technology budgets

Specific Experience:

• 3-5 Years as a Business or System Analyst, with a focus on business process automation
• 3-5 Years as a Project or Programme Manager
• 5+ Years in a technology leadership role (e.g., CIO, IT Applications Manager, VP of Technology)
• Product owner experience is advantageous
• Familiarity with the business benefits of Azure is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, and testing methodologies

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Azure DevOps
• Advanced knowledge of O365 applications
• Familiarity with the Power Platform (Canvas Apps, Power Automate, Co-pilot Studio, Power BI)
