rain is looking for a dynamic and experienced social media expert to lead the charge in bringing our brand, products and customer experiences to life across all social digital platforms. If you have a proven track record of driving business results through creative campaigns and fostering genuine customer engagement, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the Social Channels: Manage rain’s organic social presence across all platforms, from content creation to community engagement, ensuring our voice is consistent and impactful across corporate and community pages.

• Strategic Content Development: Craft and execute content strategies that align with rain’s business goals and amplify our initiatives to drive results.

• Lead the Social Media Team: Manage and inspire the social media team and content partners to drive brand advocacy, customer engagement, and positive sentiment.

• Develop Best Practices: Create scalable strategies for content creation, community management, and crisis response, including developing playbooks for brand, product, and evergreen content.

• Experience in Social Analytics Platforms: As the key stakeholder for online brand reputation / social listening partner you will be responsible for building a social media reporting framework with clear KPIs and dashboards, ensuring we can track the impact of our efforts and optimize where needed. You will be responsible for reporting on this at exco level.

• Stay Ahead of Trends: Leverage real-time insights and emerging trends to keep rain at the forefront of social media conversations, shaping our brand and product narratives.

• Maintain Governance: Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure governance is in place, mitigating any reputational risk while ensuring a unified social media approach.

• 7+ Years of Experience: You’ve spent at least 7 years developing and executing successful social media strategies for well-known South African consumer brands.

• Leadership Experience: You’ve managed a social media team and know how to lead effectively, ensuring collaboration and excellence.

• Platform Expertise: You’re fluent in Social and CX platforms on a global level. Can develop integrated product and brand strategies to life across Meta (including Threads), TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and influencer marketing, with hands-on experience.

• Creative and Strategic: You know how to develop creative content that aligns with broader business objectives and engages audiences in meaningful ways.

• Analytical Mindset: You understand the value of data in optimizing social media strategies and can create actionable insights from analytics.

• Collaboration Skills: You’re a strong team player who can work closely with social support departments and broader teams to deliver on reputational and operational brand sentiment goals.

• Likes Pace: You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while staying focused on delivering results.

• Entrepreneurial Spirit: You’re proactive, resourceful, and eager to innovate—ready to dive into new challenges and lead the way.

• A background in Marketing, Communications, or New Media (or any related field)
