POSITION INFO:

Strategic Financial Leadership:
Design and implement the company’s financial strategy to drive growth and strengthen its competitive positioning
Deliver financial insights to the executive team and board to inform and guide strategic decision-making
Collaborate with various business units to assess the financial impact of new products, markets, and partnerships
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring processes
Conduct variance analysis, providing actionable insights to enhance profitability and operational efficiency
Develop financial models to support decisions on pricing strategies, revenue expansion, and cost reduction
Operational Accounting & Reporting:
Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards
Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
Ensure robust financial controls are in place to maintain the integrity of financial reporting
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations in both South Africa and the US (parent company)
Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and implement strategies to optimize the company’s tax position
Oversee regulatory reporting to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and other relevant authorities
Treasury & Cash Management:
Optimize cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity for both operational needs and growth objectives
Manage banking relationships and streamline banking operations, including settlements and reconciliations
Mitigate financial risks, particularly those related to currency fluctuations and interest rate exposures
Risk Management & Internal Controls:
Develop and sustain a strong internal control system to safeguard company assets
Identify and manage various financial risks, including operational, credit, and fraud risks
Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) regulations
Leadership & Team Development:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, nurturing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Offer mentorship and professional development opportunities to finance team members

Skills & Experience:
Registered CA(SA)
Minimum of 8 years post article experience
Minimum of 4 years of managerial experience
Experience in Fintech
Proven track record of leading financial Ops on a regulated environment
Out of the box strategic thinker

Qualification:
CA(SA)
CFA is highly beneficial
