Head of Discipline for Business and Systems Analysis

SUMMARY:
Our Client is seeking an experienced Head of Discipline: Business and Systems Analysis to lead strategic and tactical operations, drive service excellence, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions within this domain. The role encompasses financial oversight, quality assurance, team leadership, and the continuous development of market-relevant service offerings.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and Experience

• Honours degree in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or a related field. A business or leadership diploma/degree is advantageous.
• 8+ years of experience in Business and Systems Analysis, with 3+ years in leadership or management roles.
• Preferred experience in professional services/consulting environments.

• Define, develop, and refine Business and Systems Analysis service offerings to meet market and client needs.
• Identify competencies required within client industries and align offerings to address gaps.
• Collaborate with Business Development Managers to achieve financial targets and grow the discipline.
• Support pre-sales efforts, including proposals, pricing models, and engagement strategies.
• Build strong client relationships by identifying new opportunities and providing tailored solutions.

• Oversee the execution of Business and Systems Analysis projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Manage risk, resolve issues, and ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
• Define effective engagement models to align with both client and organizational goals.

• Drive skills development and growth plans for the Business and Systems Analysis team.
• Monitor resource utilization, demand, and pipeline to ensure optimal team performance.
• Implement governance frameworks to ensure service consistency and alignment with strategic goals.
• Develop and refine roadmaps for continuous improvement of service offerings.

• Oversee financial performance, including invoicing, forecasts, and profitability tracking.
• Contribute to budgeting processes and ensure financial targets for the discipline are met.
• Support the Business Development Team by reviewing rates and pricing for proposals.

• Define and implement training and development plans aligned with the discipline’s strategy.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for team members.
• Collaborate with HR and Operations to ensure team members’ growth and alignment with business objectives.

• Strong understanding of Business and Systems Analysis methodologies and best practices.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate goals into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage and motivate teams.
• Financial and business acumen, including budget and cost management.
• Sales and negotiation skills with the ability to position solutions at an executive level.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

• Willingness to travel within Gauteng and occasionally beyond.
• Flexibility to work overtime to meet client and internal deadlines as needed.
