Duties:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives, including a roadmap for data collection, storage, and utilisation.
• Ensure data is reliable, secure, and accessible to authorised users, complying with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Spearhead the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the data strategy to enhance data-driven decision-making.
• Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights across Risk and Compliance, driving business impact.
• Lead the development of your team, supporting individual growth in line with their development journey and team needs.
• Guide the architectural roadmap for applications, aligning with the organisation’s technology modernisation strategy.
• Take ownership of the entire application lifecycle, including design, build, project management, and operations.
• Instil a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and quality within the team.
• Manage technology risk assessments, vendor relations, and overall cost management for the applications portfolio.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Honour’s degree in relevant field will be advantageous.

• 10+ years in senior data management roles, ideally within a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of data management principles, including data architecture, quality, security, governance, and analytics.
• Developing and implementing data strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Leadership experience in managing teams and providing technical guidance.
• Proven track record of successful solution delivery and value creation in a financial services organisation.
• Extensive experience in people management and technical leadership.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing data strategies that lead to significant business impact.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while delivering high-quality outcomes.

• Strong expertise in data architecture and analytics methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
