POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
You, the successful candidate, will be responsible, yet not limited to the following duties:
Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive credit risk management strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Provide leadership and strategic guidance to the credit risk team, fostering a culture of innovation and risk awareness
Establish, review, and enhance credit risk policies, frameworks, and procedures to manage risks effectively while driving profitability and growth across Africa
Analyze complex data sets using tools like SQL to uncover trends and generate actionable insights for better risk management
Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory standards and internal policies, staying ahead of industry changes
Evaluate and monitor credit risk exposures across all portfolios, implementing strategies to mitigate potential risks
Set and refine risk-based product pricing to achieve profitability targets, balancing competitiveness with financial sustainability
Collaborate with the finance team to analyze customer profitability segments, offering insights that drive decision-making
Develop advanced credit risk models using statistical and machine learning methods to forecast default probabilities and improve risk assessments
Integrate data-driven strategies and credit risk models into operational processes to enhance outcomes and reduce defaults

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 8 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role on senior/executive level
Strong experience developing predictive models for forecasting the probability of default

Qualification:
Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related field
