SUMMARY:
Join a fast-growing Financial Services company, operating across Africa as the Head of Credit Risk. In this pivotal role, you’ll shape credit risk strategies, develop advanced models to forecast consumer default trends, and refine risk-based pricing to drive profitability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into operations, ensuring sustainable growth in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

POSITION INFO:
Develop and implement credit risk strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with company goals and regulations
Lead and mentor the credit risk team, fostering innovation and risk awareness
Analyse complex data using SQL and statistical tools to uncover trends and inform credit risk models
Design and integrate advanced credit risk models and risk-based pricing to optimize profitability
Monitor credit portfolios, manage non-performing loans, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Collaborate with senior leadership, finance teams, and operational units to embed data-driven approaches into processes
Present insights and reports to stakeholders, driving continuous improvement in credit risk management

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar senior or executive-level role
Extensive expertise in developing predictive models to forecast default probabilities
Proven experience and knowledge of provisioning methodologies and calculations

Qualification:
A Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline
